FP&A Analyst

Reporting to the Sr. Mgr. FP&A.  The role is responsible for assisting in various planning and analysis activities, and high exposure to executives, and helping with co. strategy.

*paid parking responsibilities:

  • Partners with a small team in the creation of financial models to develop the annual operating budget, reviewing and validating assumptions, ensuring proper reconciliation and data integrity
  • Builds forecast models using key drivers, trend analysis, economic, and external factors, etc. and monitors the accuracy and predictability of existing models
  • Continuously improves forecast accuracy by aligning to key drivers and identifying root causes of previous errors
  • Reviews models and analytical tools prepared by team members for quality, accuracy, and continuously driving process efficiencies
  • Assists in the development of business cases and recommendations on financial strategies focused on business growth/market presence and margin improvement
  • Integral member of team that prepares key quarterly and Board of Directors presentations

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or equivalent
  • CPA, MBA or similar advanced degree preferred
  • At least 3 years of finance and/or accounting experience, including a minimum of two years in upstream oil and gas
  • Must be able to make decisions and solve problems that are general in nature and for which there are no precedents.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, with little direction, and as a team member with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Planning, Oracle, Spotfire a plus
