Senior Consultants – Reporting/Research, Houston, TX

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Work schedule varies from 35-50 hours, with only some 50-hour weeks, much easier schedule than public firms

DUTIES

  • Prepare companies to IPO, perform technical research, technical and equity advising, and derivative reporting
  • Complex financial reporting different from big 4 for primarily energy companies: IPO, SEC reporting, and derivatives (65% of clients are E&P)  
  • Handle valuation issues faced by both corporate clients and private equity portfolio companies
  • Advise clients on a large range of complex transactions, including IPOs and business combinations, high-yield and convertible security private placements, share-based compensation, derivatives and hedge accounting, variable interest entities, carve-outs, reverse mergers, SEC filings and IFRS implementations
  • Perform acquisition due diligence and valuation services with respect to entity and asset acquisitions

REQUIREMENTS

  • CPA or equivalent with 2-5 years of experience with technical accounting and research and providing client services, including external audit, technical advisory, transaction advisory, etc.
  • Experience in the energy industry
  • Advanced technical (e.g., US GAAP/IFRS/SEC) aptitude and experience
  • Specialized knowledge in one or more technical topics (e.g., financial instruments, leasing, consolidation, business combinations, stock-based compensation, SEC rules and regulations, IFRS conversions, and industry specialization)
  • Prefer public accounting experience in a national or energy-focused regional firm, oil & gas and midstream, and transaction experience (e.g., IPO, carve-out, private placement, and M&A)
  • Estimated 0-25% travel based on the project
