DUTIES

  • Organize and supervise income tax, property tax, and sales tax functions for optimum compliance with tax laws
  • Overall responsibility for preparation of tax provisions for quarterly and annual financial statements and assessment of uncertain tax positions
  • Ensure that properly operating internal controls exist and are adhered to and associated internal control documentation is prepared/updated on a timely basis
  • Overall responsibility for management of IRS and state income tax audits, serving as primary company representative to federal & state taxing authorities
  • Advise CFO and Board of Directors, executive leadership, and business management in framing the tax effects of acquisitions, significant business changes, and dispositions/liquidations

REQUIREMENTS

  • CPA or JD with a minimum of 15 years tax experience
  • Deep knowledge of upstream E&P tax accounting and compliance with demonstrated proficiency in ASC 740 and FIN 48, ASC 718 and other relevant accounting standards under the provisions of FASB, GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • At least 5 years accomplished leadership experience managing a tax organization, developing and implementing processes and procedures, directing overall activities of tax accounting, transactional and legal analysis, and strategic planning
  • Understanding of full cost accounting is highly desirable
