It’s Okay to Walk Away
By Rachel Fogg
It’s important to remember there’s a difference between giving up and knowing when you’ve had enough. A big decision like quitting a job shouldn’t ever be rushed. When making big decisions like that, ask yourself if you’re giving up or if you’ve had enough.
There is a difference between the two.
Giving up is easy. That’s why we hear the phrase “don’t give up so easily” over and over. Giving up is failing, and you give up when you haven’t tried hard enough.
When you’ve had enough, it means you’ve already tried hard enough. You tried to work with what you had to make things better, but the situation didn’t improve. You’ve decided to put your past behind you and move on.
It can be really hard to walk away from a job, even if the new opportunity is great. But before you do, ask yourself; are you giving up or have you had enough? And remember, it’s okay to walk away when you’ve had enough.
