Accounting Analyst III/Sr. (Project)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

To support the accounting functions of projects, including:

• Manage reimbursable projects, including billing/refund settlements, DOT correspondence, and monthly reconciliations for Prepaids, A/R Reclass, and Overhead Reserve.
  • Book overhead and tax gross-up entries at settlement and maintain tax gross-up forecast.
• Process payroll into projects and resolve system exceptions.
• Perform labor transfers between tasks and projects within the Projects module.
• Review and track alliance contractor invoices; monitor spending and resolve invoice discrepancies. Evaluate Alliance Agreement payment terms and maintain tracking spreadsheets.
• Prepare and book monthly journal entries.
• Prepare and book project write-offs.
• Assist with Oracle quarterly regression testing
• Compile retention release packages, reconcile project spend to contracts, and coordinate lien waivers and release documentation with Operations.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to work independently.
• Highly organized, motivated and an analytical thinker.
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• 5-10 years of experience
• Proficient in Excel, including formulas and pivot tables
• Solid understanding of core accounting principles, including the accurate application of debits and credits

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Pipeline or other industry experience

• BA/BS Finance or Accounting
